Hybridations fertiles
Roman Moriceau
“Fertile Hybridizations” explores the many forms of encounters and interconnections between humans, non-humans, knowledge, and temporalities.
Visitors are invited to engage with the space, to reflect, to connect with these artists, researchers, and designers, and to attempt, like them, to enter into dialogue with the living by moving beyond anthropocentrism—the idea that human beings are at the center of everything—in order to recognize in other species a form of intelligence, agency, and to reconnect with them through sensory bonds.
“Here is the paradox: to contribute to a future that ensures the care of humans, we must transform our philosophical anthropology in a direction where we no longer identify ourselves primarily as humans. For the sake of humans—since this is clearly a central issue in the crises to come—we must first think of ourselves as living beings. ”
— Baptiste Morizot, Raviver les braises du vivant.
More than 50 works and installations make up this sensory landscape, where artists and designers from various generations and backgrounds bring together observation, experimentation, and wonder as paths to reconnection.
