For this new show entitled ''A Dark Light'', Przemek Pyszczek (b.1985, in Poland) saw as a further flattening of physical and emotional elements into the works that make up an abstract landscape.
“With “A Dark Light”, I was very emotionally influenced by everything that has been going on in Poland, and in the world as a whole, over the past year. The social uprising in Poland over women’s and LGBTQ rights, the pandemic, stressful elections seemingly everywhere... I felt as though there was a constant struggle for the light and darkness of the world to come into equilibrium. These ideas of tension vs. slackness, order vs. chaos, rigidity vs. ease, are something that I have also tried to communicate with the sculptures in terms of their compositions.”
